about me

Hi and welcome to Sumit's little nook on the web!
For the uninitiated, the vital stats are up on the
home page, and the name once again is
Sumit
Kishore.
I was born and grew up in
Patna,
the capital and a cozy little city in the state of Bihar in India. I did my schooling at the
St. Michael's High School.
Following a further two years for my Intermediate in Science at the
Science College,
Patna, I made my way to the
Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur,
for a B. Tech. in Chemical Enginnering and for some of the most fun days of my life. The
mural
on the photograph to the right was, incidentally, painted by me,
Sam and Lamboo
during my stay in the Lala Lajpat Rai Hall of Residence there.
I came over to the U.S. in the fall of '97 for an MS, also in ChemE, at the
New Jersey Institute of Technology,
Newark. Did my thesis on the investigation of use of implanted deuterium to reduce the
hot electron effect associated with the silicon oxide-silicon interface in thin-oxide
CMOS devices. (I don't know if anyone would be crazy enough to want to check it out
over the web, but if you are, my thesis is available
right here
as a pdf document). For the interested, my
resumé
can be viewed here.
Following my graduation, I took up a job in Java & Oracle programming with ATI, a
New Jersey-based consultancy firm, in 1999. The job took me to places like New Brunswick,
Denver and
San Jose and to clients like
Qwest,
Yopa and
KLA Tencor. Presently I'm in
San Jose, California,
where I work for
Prodapt Corp. and am on project for KLA Tencor.
My address and info on reaching me can be found on the
contact page.
To dig a bit deeper about me, my family, friends and interests, you may want to
check out my
personal
page.
I hope you have a good time exploring my web page. And while you're at it, how about dropping
a few words in my
guestbook?
A word of caution : I use my web page just as much to try out stuff as to stake out my presence
on the web, so don't be surprised to find the odd link leading nowhere. And whatever you do,
please don't follow
this link.
Happy surfing!
